John Chiminski

John Chiminski

President & Chief Executive Officer

John Chiminski was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Catalent Pharma Solutions in March 2009. Mr. Chiminski has a diversified business background that spans operations, research and development, services, and global leadership.

He joined Catalent after more than 20 years of experience at GE Healthcare in engineering, operations and senior leadership roles.  From 2007 until he left in 2009, Mr. Chiminski served as President and Chief Executive Officer of GE Medical Diagnostics, a diagnostic pharmaceutical business with sales of $1.9 billion.  From 2005 to 2007, he served as Vice President and General Manager of GE Healthcare’s Global Magnetic Resonance Business, and from 2001 to 2005, Mr. Chiminski served as Vice President and General Manager of Global Healthcare Services. Earlier in his time at GE, Mr. Chiminski held a series of cross-functional leadership positions in both manufacturing and R&D, including a GE Medical Systems assignment in France.  

Mr. Chiminski holds a B.S. from Michigan State University and an M.S. from Purdue University, both in electrical engineering, as well as a Master in Management degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. 

He is on the Board of Trustees for HealthCare Institute of New Jersey.

Matthew Walsh

Matthew Walsh

Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Matthew Walsh was named Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Catalent in May 2013. Mr. Walsh joined Catalent in 2008 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Catalent he served as President and Chief Financial Officer of Escala Group, Inc., a global collectibles network and precious metals trader.

Mr. Walsh has an extensive background in finance and accounting and has served as CFO for several companies across a variety of industries.

Prior to Escala, Mr. Walsh gained 10 years of financial experience at GenTek, Inc., a diversified industrial manufacturer. From 1996 through 2006, he held positions of increasing responsibility in corporate development, accounting, and finance – culminating in his appointment as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of GenTek. Prior to his time at GenTek, Mr. Walsh served in corporate development and other roles in both the banking and chemicals industries.

Mr. Walsh holds a BS in chemical engineering and an MBA from Cornell University and is a CFA charterholder.

Lance Miyamoto

Lance Miyamoto

Senior Vice President of Human Resources

Lance Miyamoto was named Senior Vice President of Human Resources of Catalent in March 2011. Mr. Miyamoto has more than 25 years experience in delivering HR systems including compensation and career structures that drive business results and growth.  In addition to general HR expertise and organization development, he has experience leading in a global environment and has managed global company turnarounds, mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to his own consulting business, Mr. Miyamoto held a number of HR leadership roles in other companies, including Executive Vice President of Comverse Technology Inc. He also served as Executive Vice President of HR for AOL LLC, a division of Time Warner, from 2004 to 2007.

From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Miyamoto was Executive Vice President of HR for Lexis-Nexis, a $2.2 billion division of Reed Elsevier. He was also a senior executive with Dun and Bradstreet with responsibility for performance development.  Early in his career, Mr. Miyamoto was an HR specialist at Avon Products and at Exxon, working closely with leaders and employees in R&D, manufacturing, sales, and services.

Mr. Miyamoto is a graduate of Harvard University, and holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where he was a COGME (Council for Graduate Management Education) Fellow.

Dave Heyens

David Heyens

President, Softgel Technologies

David Heyens was named President of Softgel Technologies of Catalent in June 2010. Previously, he served as President of Packaging Services and Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing.

When he first joined Catalent in 1995, Mr. Heyens served as General Manager for the Canadian Softgel business, then President of the North American Softgel business from 2000 to 2006. From 2006 to 2007, he headed the Global Softgel business.

Prior to Catalent, Mr. Heyens held a variety of sales and marketing leadership roles at Baxter and Procter & Gamble.

Mr. Heyens holds a BS in business administration and marketing from St. Clair College of Applied Arts and Technologies in Canada.

Ian Muir

Ian Muir, PhD

President, Modified Release Technologies

Ian Muir, PhD was named President of Modified Release Technologies of Catalent in June 2010.  Dr. Muir is a registered pharmacist in the United Kingdom. After working for a short period in hospital pharmacy and for GlaxoSmithKline, he returned to academia to complete a doctorate at Nottingham University. His research focused on the biological distribution and retention of biodegradable microspheres in the systemic circulation.

Dr. Muir joined Catalent when it was operating as RP Scherer in 2000 as head of project management in the UK. Subsequently, he served as the Director of Oral Product Development and as business leader for the Zydis® fast dissolve technology segment. In 2005, he was promoted to Vice President of Technical Operations and then named Vice President and General Manager of Modified Release Technologies in 2007.

Prior to Catalent, Dr. Muir also held roles within product development, technical operations, and program management at Bristol-Meyers Squibb, Wyeth, and Faulding/DBL Pharmaceuticals in the US, UK, and Australia.

Barry Russell

Barry Littlejohns

President, Medication Delivery Solutions

Barry Littlejohns was named President, Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS), effective July 1, 2011. Mr. Littlejohns leads Catalent’s Sterile Technologies and Packaging Services business, which meet increasing customer demand for integrated fill-to-finish capabilities.

Mr. Littlejohns has an extensive background in leading international life science businesses in both US and European organizations.  He rejoins Catalent after two years as Senior Vice President of Operations and Business Development at Danish biotechnology company Genmab, where his responsibilities included strategic licensing and manufacturing oversight.  

Prior to Genmab, he served in a broad range of leadership roles at Catalent. These include Vice President of Global Business Operations, Vice President of Commercial Affairs for Sterile Technology, Vice President and General Manager of Injectables, and various financial, operational and leadership roles.  He joined Catalent in 1989 when it was formerly the PTS division of Cardinal Health

Mr. Littlejohns has two degrees in business and finance from Swindon, UK.

Scott Houlton

Scott Houlton

President, Development & Clinical Services

Scott Houlton was named President of Development and Clinical Services of Catalent in August 2009. Mr. Houlton has an extensive background in leading global organizations, with particular expertise in the area of development services, including preclinical, formulation, analytical testing, manufacturing, packaging, and international logistics services.

Mr. Houlton joined Catalent after serving as Chief Operating Officer at Aptuit, Inc., where he led global teams that provided developmental services to customers. His responsibilities also included strategic planning and integrations related to new acquisitions. Before that, he held the position of President of Clinical Operations at Aptuit.

Prior to Aptuit, Mr. Houlton held a variety of leadership roles in other companies, including Vice President of Clinical Supplies at Quintiles Transnational Corporation. Earlier in his career, he was with Cardinal Health, where he served as Director of International Business Development.

Mr. Houlton holds a BS in both international business and finance from The Ohio State University.

Steve Leonard

Steve Leonard

Senior Vice President, Global Operations

Steve Leonard was named Senior Vice President of Global Operations of Catalent in June 2009. Steve Leonard has extensive operational experience and has led global teams in meeting business and operational goals.

Mr. Leonard joined Catalent after more than 22 years of experience at GE Healthcare, where he was most recently General Manager of Global Operations for GE’s Healthcare’s Medical Diagnostics business.

While at GE, he held a variety of leadership roles in areas such as plant management, global sourcing and supply chain, global product quality, and global operations.

Mr. Leonard is a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt and holds a BS in mechanical engineering from Drexel University.

Kurt Nielsen

Kurt Nielsen, PhD

Senior Vice President, Innovation & Growth

Kurt Nielsen was named Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Innovation and Growth of Catalent in February 2010. Dr. Nielsen is responsible for driving innovation activities and investments across Catalent’s broad range of advanced dose forms and packaging technologies. He has an extensive background in both pharmaceutical sciences and commercial activities.

His expertise in scientific strategy development, as well as oversight of clinical development, medical affairs, and research and development areas, combines scientific and business acumen in the service of Catalent’s customers.

Dr. Nielsen joined Catalent after serving as Executive Vice President of Pharmaceuticals at URL Mutual Pharmaceutical Company. In that role, he devised the strategy and launch of the company’s new product portfolio as well as completed multiple deals ranging from licensing to partnerships to joint ventures.

Before that role, he was Vice President of R&D, where he established global supply chain and development relationships with companies in Europe, India, and China.

Prior to URL Mutual, Dr. Nielsen held a variety of executive positions with TEVA Pharmaceuticals USA; McNeil Consumer Products; Energy Biosystems, Inc.; Bachem Bioscience; Hercules, Inc.; Arco Chemical Company; and Chubb National Foam.

Dr. Nielsen’s PhD is in chemistry from Villanova University; he also holds a BS in chemistry from the University of Delaware.

Will Downie

Will Downie

Senior Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing

Will Downie was named Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing of Catalent in October 2009. Mr. Downie has an extensive background in commercialization, marketing, and business development in both pharmaceutical and diagnostic imaging markets. In particular he has spent much of his career running sales and marketing organizations in Western Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, as well as North America.

Mr. Downie joined Catalent after serving as Vice President and Global Leader of Molecular Imaging at GE Healthcare. In that role he led a global organization of 1,800 people and oversaw five manufacturing sites in the United States and Europe.

Before that, he held several executive positions in other GE Healthcare units, including Vice President and General Manager, Medical Diagnostics – Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Vice President of Sales for Medical Diagnostics – Europe.

Prior to GE Healthcare, Mr. Downie was with Innovex UK Limited (part of Quintiles, Inc.), where he held several positions in operations and sales/marketing. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions with Sanofi-Synthelabo UK; Sanofi-Winthrop Limited; and Merck & Co., Inc.

Mr. Downie holds a BS degree in biochemistry from the University of Edinburgh.

Sharon Johnson

Sharon Johnson

Senior Vice President, Global Quality & Regulatory Affairs

Sharon Johnson was named Senior Vice President of Global Quality and Regulatory Affairs of Catalent in August 2009. Ms. Johnson is a quality professional with more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, predominantly in the area of sterile products and biosciences.

Ms. Johnson joined Catalent after six years at GE Healthcare, where she was Vice President of Quality for GE Healthcare, Medical Diagnostics, in Buckinghamshire, England.

Prior to GE, she was Quality Director for Baxter Healthcare’s Europe operations for four years. Before that, she was with Rhone Poulenc Rorer as Quality Manager for Sterile Products and Microbiology in Essex, England. Earlier in her career, Ms. Johnson held Quality and Microbiology positions with Berk Pharmaceuticals in East Sussex, England, and Medicines Testing Laboratory in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Ms. Johnson holds a Post Graduate Diploma with Distinction in industrial pharmaceutical studies from Brighton University and holds a BS Honors Degree in biological sciences/microbiology from North East Surrey College of Technology.

Samrat Khichi

Samrat Khichi

Senior Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer & General Counsel

Samrat Khichi has served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and Secretary of Catalent Pharma Solutions since October 2007. In 2010, he was also named the company’s Chief Administrative Officer.

Before joining Catalent, Mr. Khichi was Counsel in the Mergers and Acquisitions and Private Equity Group at O’Melveny & Myers LLP. Prior to O’Melveny & Myers, he was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as a White House Fellow. Prior to the White House Fellowship, Mr. Khichi was an attorney in the Mergers and Acquisitions practice groups of Shearman & Sterling and McDermott Will & Emery. Mr. Khichi also served as the General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer of a software company.

Mr. Khichi has an extensive background in the military, including serving as an active duty field artillery officer in the U.S. Army, and as a reserve Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve, Office of Naval Intelligence. While serving in the N.J. Army National Guard’s Counterdrug Task Force, he was the Deputy Director of the NY/NJ High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area. Mr. Khichi also held a Top Secret security clearance.

Mr. Khichi holds a B.S. from Georgetown University, an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, and a J.D. cum laude and Order of the Coif from Fordham University School of Law.

Roy Satchell

Roy Satchell

Senior Vice President, Business Transformation

Roy Satchell had served as Senior Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer of Catalent since April 2007. In December 2012, he was named Senior Vice President of Business Transformation. Mr. Satchell has more than 25 years of experience within the pharmaceutical and nutritional markets as well as several years of experience in the retail industry.

Mr. Satchell joined Catalent in 1997 at the Swindon, United Kingdom site. Over the years he has held a variety of leadership positions in IT and Operations, both in the U.K. and the U.S., including Senior Vice President of Information Technology for Cardinal Health and Vice President of Global Applications for Cardinal Health’s Pharmaceutical Technologies and Services business unit.

He previously worked at R. P. Scherer Corporation from 1982 to 1994, during which time the company was acquired by Cardinal Health. In 1994 he began working for Marley Extrusions, heading Logistics Projects, and then Supply Chain in the fast-moving consumer goods market; he rejoined Cardinal Health in 1997.

Mr. Satchell has a post-graduate degree in management studies and administrative management, both from Regents College, Swindon, U.K., and an MBA from Bristol University in Bristol, UK.

Cornell Stamoran

Cornell Stamoran

Vice President, Corporate Development & Strategy, Investor Relations Officer

Cornell Stamoran was named Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy of Catalent in November 2007. Mr. Stamoran has more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Since joining Catalent in 1992, he has held many roles across a variety of disciplines, including financial and tax accounting; SEC reporting and financial planning; strategic business and technology planning; sales/business development; market intelligence; corporate development; marketing and branding; innovation; and public and investor relations.Prior to Catalent, he worked at Arthur Andersen & Co.

In his current role Mr. Stamoran leads Catalent’s market intelligence and strategic planning efforts as well as supporting its global M&A activities. Additionally, he serves as investor relations officer for the company’s debt holders.

Mr. Stamoran holds a B.S. degree in accounting and management from the University of Michigan. He is also a certified public accountant (CPA), a certified management accountant (CMA), a certified information systems auditor (CISA), and a certified licensing professional (CLP). Besides being a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, the National Investor Relations Institute, the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals, and the World Futures Society, Mr. Stamoran has published articles in a variety of pharmaceutical trade publications. He has also served as conference chair and board member for several drug delivery and outsourcing industry conferences.

Charles Silvey

Vice President, Internal Audit

Charles Silvey was named Vice President of Internal Audit in April 2008 and has over 21 years experience in financial auditing and compliance. Before arriving at Catalent in 2008, he was the Practice Director for Internal Audit and Controls for Jefferson Wells International. He also served as Vice President of Internal Audit at Cambrex Corporation and Vice President of Financial and Operational Auditing for Automatic Data Processing, Inc.   Prior to that, he was the CFO of the Americas Services for Lucent Technologies, and in his early career worked as a finance manager for CR Bard, Inc. and KPMG Peat Marwick, LLP. 

Mr. Silvey has a bachelor’s degree in business from Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey. He is a certified public accountant and a member of the New Jersey Society of CPAs. Mr. Silvey also serves as a current panelist and featured speaker for the Center for Professional Education.

Michael Del Priore

Michael Del Priore

Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer

Michael Del Priore was named Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer in December 2012. Mr. Del Priore joined Catalent with more than 25 years IT experience.

Prior to Catalent, Mr. Del Priore was CIO of Church & Dwight (C&D) where he drove the alignment of IT priorities with business strategy and modernized key systems to enable the company’s global expansion and growth.  The IT strategy he implemented at C&D included replacing or upgrading virtually all major operational and reporting systems which gave the company the ability to integrate acquisitions more quickly and manage its global supply more effectively.

Prior to C&D, Mr. Del Priore was Vice President of Global Commercial IT Operations, for Hoffman-LaRoche where he developed and led a global IT team situated in 40 countries. Mr. Del Priore’s career includes several years at Philip Morris in its international and U.S. divisions in significant roles, reporting to the CIO. From 1999 to 2004, Mr. Del Priore served in as Director of Information Systems for Sales and Marketing systems at Philip Morris USA. Prior to that, he led the implementation of IT solutions for Philip Morris’s international and corporate headquarters.

Mr. Del Priore holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the State University of New York-Albany and an MBA in corporate finance from Pace University. He lives in Yorktown Heights, NY with his family.
