Global Academic Competition

SUBMISSION DEADLINE FOR COMPETITION IS EXTENDED TO MARCH 16, 2012

Sponsored by Catalent Pharma Solutions with academic partner St. John’s University

Welcome to the first annual Life Science Leaders of Tomorrow Global Academic Competition. Catalent, in partnership with academic partner St. John’s University, are excited to bring this competition to graduate students in both the United States and Europe as an opportunity to demonstrate their academic excellence while creating real-world opportunities for continued advancement in research and practical industry experience.

To be eligible for this competition, students must be in a graduate program enrolled in:
  • pharmaceutical science
  • industrial pharmacy 
  • drug development 
  • drug delivery or related discipline program at participating schools such as St. John’s University, Purdue University, Rutgers University, University of Connecticut, University of Maryland, University of Wisconsin, University of Kansas and Ohio State
The competition comprises two categories:
  • Original research article on challenges in drug development and/or drug delivery
  • Research proposal that describes an original, innovative research project in drug development and/or drug delivery

Students are required to collaborate with university faculty in developing and submitting entries for either of these categories.

Prizes
  1. 1. Each category winner will receive a $5,000 award.
  2. 2. First runner-up in each category will receive a $500 award.
  3. 3. Category winners and runners-up will have the opportunity for a paid internship with Catalent Pharma Solutions.
  4. 4. Each winner will have an opportunity to have their work published by Catalent or other industry media.

Judging will take place by March 30, 2012. Competition winners will be contacted and announced by April 14, 2012.
