Akan Oton is Global Marketing Director, responsible for pharmaceutical commercial packaging and clinical supply services for Catalent. He joined Catalent in September 2005 and has focused extensively on marketing strategy, business development, new product development as well as Catalent’s Serialization and Track & Trace initiatives.
Prior to joining Catalent, Akan held various Brand Management roles at Johnson & Johnson, in their Women’s Health Franchise. Beginning his career as a product development engineer at Procter & Gamble, Akan has held package development, R&D and product research roles in the consumer products area. He earned a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as well as an MBA from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.
Akan has written articles on clinical outsourcing strategy, compliance packaging, as well as conducted seminars on both topics.
Victor Gherdan is the lead designer and Manager of Package Design Engineering for Catalent. He joined Catalent in 1997 as a Package and Tooling Designer and was later promoted to Design Manager. Victor is responsible for package design and package development for Catalent's commercial contract packaging sales. By focusing on child safety and adult friendly compliance packaging, Victor has been driving innovation through his creation of novel proprietary packaging such as the patented Dual-Dose Dispensing Blister UnitTM and RxBarrier+TM with five additional patent pending packaging solutions.
Prior to joining Catalent, Victor held the position of Contract Package Engineer for Novartis Consumer Health. Victor earned a BS degree in Applied Sciences/Packaging Engineering from Rutgers Unitversity, College of Engineering.
Deanne is Technical Sales Support responsible for pharmaceutical printed components for Catalent. She joined Catalent in October 2007 and has focused on compliance packaging, business development within printed components. Prior to joining Catalent Deanna has worked for Alcan Packaging MeadWestvaco.
Deane began her career as a Pediatric Dietian and then a Pharmaceutical Sales Rep for Searle, Pharmacia and Pfizer. She is a graduate of MaryMount College earning a degree in Nutritional and Science.
Marty Mason is Director of Marketing, Packaging Solutions, responsible for pharmaceutical commercial packaging for One World Design and Manufacturing Group, located in Warren, NJ. He joined One World in January 2005 and has focused extensively on marketing strategy, business development, new product development and is also division head for One World's Packaging Division.
Prior to joing One World, Marty held various sales and marketing roles in the advertising industry focusing on consumer package goods. Some of his clients included - Campbell Soup, Hershey, Godiva, The NBA and American Express.
Marty began his career at Pitney Bowes Management Services where he was responsible for business development and outsourcing strategies for mail services and other related office services.
Marty earned a bachelor's degree in History/Political Science from the Virginia Military Institute. He has written articles on outsourcing strategies, compliance packaging, as well as conducted seminars and training sessions on both topics.
Peter Mayberry is President of Mayberry & Associates, LLC. In this role, Peter serves as Executive Director of the Healthcare Compliance Packaging Council, and Executive Director of the Pharmaceutical Printed Literature Association.
Peter has been heavily involved in pharmaceutical packaging issues for more than 17 years. His professional responsibilities include service on the American Society of Testing and Materials committee for child resistant packaging (ASTM D10.31), the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) Committee on Repackaging, and is listed in "Who's Who in Pharmaceutical Packaging" published by Pharmaceutical and Medical Packaging News.
Peter is a registered lobbyist on behalf of both of these associations and regularly meets with Contressional and regulatory officials regarding issues of interest to the industries he represents. He is a regular contributor to the general and trade press, and frequent speaker on issues of interest to his clients.
Peter has a Bachelor's degree in Goverment from the College of William and Mary, a graduate-level lega studies/paralegal certification from Georgetown University, and a Master's degree in Legislative Affairs from George Washington University. He began his career in the Office of Washington Liaison of the international accounting firm of Price Waterhouse (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers), and served as Director of Government Affairs for the Washington, D.C. office of Kutak Rock—a national law firm until 1998. Prior to joing Kutak Rock, Peter spent more than seven years doing legislative and reulatory affairs work for the Washington, D.C.-based law firm of Keller & Heckman.
