Session Title: Using PBPK Modeling to Predict Drug Absorption and Support Recommendations in Drug Development
Session Date: September 6, 2022
Session Time: 15:40  CET

Achieving success in early development is essential in progressing to your molecule’s next milestone. Although solubility challenges are significant hurdles to overcome, there are additional biopharmaceutical challenges to consider during the path to the clinic. In this presentation, Catalent’s expert Jan Neelissen will highlight where PBPK fits in the early drug development and how it can be used to determine the potential of the small molecule using PK values from animal studies to build more accurate human predictions. A review of the type of data collection needed to support PBPK/DMPK evaluations and the red flags in development that indicate the need for additional studies will be presented. In addition, the parameter sensitivity analysis (PSA) to identify formulation and drug properties affecting PK properties will be discussed.
