Title: Improving chance of success in early drug development
Developing a new drug is a costly and lengthy process, taking up to 14 years from identifying a drug candidate to regulatory approval. Moreover, the failure rate for new drugs during clinical evaluation is very high, typically with only 1 in 10 compounds emerging from this process as a marketed product. The presentation will address the factors which need to be considered during early development of drug candidates and will discuss how a holistic bio-pharmaceutics approach can mitigate risks and maximize the chance of success of a compound surviving the clinical trial process.
