Catalent Appoints New Vice President of Global Sales

Somerset, NJ, November 24, 2009 — Catalent Pharma Solutions, Inc. announced the appointment of Paul Burns to the position of Vice President of Global Sales. In this newly created role, Mr. Burns will be responsible for developing Catalent’s global sales strategy and driving sales force excellence across the company, with a particular focus on enhancing Catalent’s sales capability for all offerings.

Prior to joining Catalent, Mr. Burns’ most recent role was as the CEO of Brighter Ideas, Inc., a New Jersey biotech organization that advances green fluorescent protein technology for assay development. Earlier in his career, Mr. Burns was the General Manager and National Sales Manager for the Cardiovascular CT business at GE Healthcare. He held several other earlier positions at GE Healthcare, including CT Product Manager and Growth Market Account Manager. Other positions include President and CEO of Emergency Cardiac Imaging (ECI) in New Jersey, and business advisor to the University City Science Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the oldest and largest science park in the world.

Mr. Burns has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Economics from La Salle University in Philadelphia, and is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt.
