OMEGA-3 TRENDS AND INNOVATIONS AT VITAFOODS Joint Expert Presentation from Catalent and GOED
Somerset, NJ – May 9, 2013 — Julien Meissonnier, Catalent R&D Platform Director will jointly present “Omega-3s Innovation in the Consumer Market” with Adam Ismail, Executive Director of the Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3s (GOED), at the forthcoming Vitafoods Europe event (14-16 May, Palexpo, Geneva, Switzerland). The session, which takes place on Wednesday 15th May, from 8.10 to 8.30 am, will introduce key consumer insights for Omega-3s, one of the fastest growing segments in the global dietary supplements market.
Mr. Meissonnier’s presentation will outline common R&D challenges and will offer actionable solutions for the full product development cycle including formulation, manufacturing, and storing a quality Omega-3 product. He will also touch on parameters that will help to control and understand product quality during manufacture and shelf life storage, including exact dosage composition; fill material quality - including degree of oxidization and effective delivery of the active (dissolution) Parameters important to provide a reliable quality product solution.
In closing Mr. Meissonnier will highlight some of the newest innovations and developments in Omega-3 product design and delivery including targeted delivery, reduced reflux, and potential bio availability enhancement benefits. The session takes place in Conference Room B at Palexpo.
Mr. Meissonnier will then take part in a meet the expert session later that day, at 4.30 pm on the Catalent booth, 12043.
Julien Meissonnier has 15 years of experience in pharmaceutical development and leads Catalent’s European R&D Platform for the development of lipid-based drug delivery solutions. He provides technical and scientific leadership for the development of poorly soluble drugs that lead to approvable regulatory dossiers.
Mr. Meissonnier received his Engineer Degree in Physico-Chemistry from the ISMRa in Caen, France. He is an expert in his field and currently sits on the Board of Directors with the Alsace BioValley life sciences and healthcare cluster based in France. As a board member, he supports Alsace BioValley in its efforts to continue driving growth in the life sciences by identifying and coordinating ambitious projects that will create employment opportunities in the region.
