Catalent To Speak On Patient Perceptions & Clinical Trial Supply Models

Somerset, N.J., – March 2, 2016 — Catalent Pharma Solutions, the leading global provider of advanced delivery technologies and development solutions for drugs, biologics, consumer health products and global clinical supply services, today announced that Ms. Esther Sadler-Williams, Global Director, Strategic Development and Innovation, and Dr. Paul Ingram, Global Director, Clinical Supply Services, have been invited to speak at the upcoming ISPE Europe Annual Conference, to be held at the Campus Westend, Goethe-Universität, Frankfurt, Germany, on March 7th – 9th, 2016.

Ms. Sadler-Williams’ presentation, on Tuesday March 8th, at 2:00 p.m., is entitled “Patient Perceptions of Investigational Medicinal Products”. She will speak as a representative of the Investigational Products Community of Practice Steering Committee, and discuss the findings from the cross-industry group’s patient survey, undertaken with a range of subjects associated with IMP (Investigational Medicinal Product) trials. The presentation will outline key findings including overall patient experience, patient perceptions around labelling and kit design, transport and storage of medicines, as well as behavior associated with returning unused medicines.

Dr. Ingram is to present “New Supply Chain Concepts and Innovations: Demand Led Supplies” on Wednesday March 9th, at 9:10 a.m., and will discuss the evolution of clinical supply models, examining how challenges within traditional models are driving change within the industry. He will give an overview of the Demand Led Supply (DLS) model, and how it impacts patients, clinical sites, clinical personnel and study sponsors, and the advantages of using a DLS model when appropriate versus traditional supply-led approaches.

Ms. Sadler-Williams M.Sc., MRPharmS, is the past EU chair of the ISPE Investigational Products Community of Practice committee. As a pharmacist, she has had nearly 30 years’ experience in various pharmaceutical fields, latterly in clinical supply environments, but she also worked for five years with Sanofi Winthrop, where she was Head of Research Services, managing groups of clinical research associates, medical writers and information/adverse event surveillance specialists. Her previous roles include Principal Pharmacist with the Regional Drug Information Service at St Mary’s Hospital in Manchester, UK, and Pharmacy Manager with Boots the Chemist.

Dr. Ingram’s 25 year career has focused on Medical Device and Pharmaceutical Research and Development. He obtained his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Development from Strathclyde University, Scotland, and has over 15 years of experience in clinical supplies, working both in phase I units and trial supplies service companies including Quintiles (Aptuit), Fisher Clinical and Catalent.
