Novel Coating Process Enables Taste Masking For Immediate Release Formulations
Summary: Conventional coating techniques including the fluid-bed coating leaves the desire for a fast, solvent-free, coating process with high drug load and without agglomeration. A novel dry coating process using acoustic mixing is used to taste-mask an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). This API, when formulated into a tablet, provides good taste-masking while maintaining the desired dissolution release characteristics.
