Welcome to Aprilia! Catalent Italy S.p.A. is the Italian subsidiary of Catalent Pharma solutions, a leading provider of advanced technologies from drugs and biological development services to supply solutions for Pharmaceuticals, Nutritionals and Cosmetics Business in more than 100 countries. The Aprilia facility manufactures and packages traditional gelatin and Vegicaps® capsules for the Consumer Health and Pharmaceutical businesses.

We are committed to the safety of our employees and visitors, overall compliance, reliably supplying the patients that count on us, and excellent customer service for our clients. We are happy to have you as a visitor to our site and it is our main priority and objective to make sure your visit with us is as successful as possible.

Visitor Health Statement

Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Catalent is committed to the health and safety of its employees, visitors, and the customers and patients we serve. In light of the Coronavirus outbreak, we have put in place restrictions on access to our sites.

By entering this facility I affirm that:

I have not experienced any of the following symptoms within 72 hours of visiting this site:

  • Fever or chills
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Cough
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Diarrhea
  • Fatigue
  • Headaches
  • Muscle or body aches
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat

Catalent takes the health and safety of its employees seriously. As such, if you should exhibit the symptoms of, or test positive for, COVID-19 over the next two days, we request that you contact your Catalent host, so that Catalent can take all possible measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

Site visitor guidelines are dependent on local regulations as well as local pandemic status and are subject to change. Your site host will advise on any changes outside of this document prior to visit.

Key Aprilia Site Information

Welcome to Aprilia! Catalent Italy S.p.A. is the Italian subsidiary of Catalent Pharma solutions, a leading provider of advanced technologies from drugs and biological development services to supply solutions for Pharmaceuticals, Nutritionals and Cosmetics Business in more than 100 countries. The Aprilia facility manufactures and packages traditional gelatin and Vegicaps® capsules for the Consumer Health and Pharmaceutical businesses. 

SECURITY

  • Parking is only permitted in the visitors’ parking spaces. 
  • Visitors must register at the Guardhouse and get a visitor permit (badge). Photo ID is required. 
  • Visitors must wear and fully display the badge during the whole visit and give it back to the Guardhouse before leaving. 
  • Visitors are responsible for their own personal belongings and/or working tools during the visit. 
  • Taking photographs or videos of Catalent employees, of company facilities or equipment, and machinery is forbidden, unless specifically authorized by your Catalent contact person.
  • The plant area is monitored by cameras 24 hours a day (data handling complies with the existing regulations on Privacy). 

SAFETY

  • Access to production areas or machinery is permitted only if accompanied by a Catalent Employee that will inform you on the specific safety rules, to be followed in the visited areas.
  • For your own safety, please adhere to the instructions, and to the warning signs. 
  • The dressing code and the personal protection equipment requirements for the plant areas must be adhered to. Your Catalent contact will provide you with the relevant information. 
  • Smoking is only permitted in the designated areas. 
  • The use of paging receivers and mobile telephones in Production, Quality Control Labs, and Warehouse is permitted upon authorization by your Catalent contact, only. 
  • Control of access to the plant is achieved with badge-activated turnstiles. Some areas of the building are restricted to authorized personnel only: your badge would not open those doors. 

GOOD MANUFACTURING PRACTICES (GMP)

  • If you are visiting the manufacturing area, please avoid high heels and ensure you wear or have available closed-toe shoes. 
  • Eating, and drinking (including chewing gums); wearing jewels (e.g. watches, earrings, rings, necklace), or any other garment that could be tangled by machines, get in contact with the products, or be lost and eventually contaminate the products, is forbidden. 
  • Your Host will introduce you to the hygiene, and dressing rules to be followed. 
  • Personal protection equipment and GMP garments are to be worn before entering the specific area. Your Host will provide you the suitable equipment. 
  • Sanitize hands before entering the production area is mandatory. 
  • GMP garments and Personal Protective Equipment will be removed before leaving the production or the laboratory areas.
  • Entering the production areas as well as touching machinery, facilities and products requires permission by your Catalent contact person. 
  • For product safety purpose, we kindly request you to inform us of any airborne disease you are or have been subject to, in case of visit to the production area. 

EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM 

  • The Emergency Alerting System consists of 2 different sirens: one sending out a bi-tonal sound (area alert), one sending out a continuous sound (evacuation).  
  • The area sirens go off when activated by the smoke/heath detection system, or when somebody pushes the emergency buttons, placed throughout the plant. 
  • During the pre-alert status, the emergency team is assembled. Please, maintain a high level of attention but do not evacuate the plant, yet. 
  • If the emergency team can’t manage the emergency, the evacuation alarm is activated by the Guardhouse. Upon hearing the evacuation alarm, leave the area where you are, following the instructions from your Catalent Host. 
  • Each Monday morning, at 10:00 am, at 19:00 pm and 23:00 pm both sirens are tested for about 3 seconds. 

SIGNS & WARNINGS

  • Please be aware of displayed warning/personal protection signs and adhere to instruction issued by Catalent staff.
  • Do not enter restricted areas or touch any product, materials, machinery controls or equipment, unless authorized to do so by a Catalent employee.

FIRE 

A fire-fighting squad is available on site and will promptly intervene in case of need. In case of fire: 

  • Remain calm; 
  • Fire is to be immediately reported to the Guardhouse (ext.4400); 
  • Do not use elevators; 
  • Follow the instructions of the emergency team. 

ACCIDENT OR INJURY 

In case of accident or injury, please inform your Catalent contact person or call the Guardhouse (ext.4400) to obtain assistance. 

SITE EVACUATION 

In case of evacuation alarm (see “Emergency Alerting System”): 

  • Remain calm; 
  • Leave the area from the nearest emergency exit, and proceed to the nearest Assembly Point, where your presence will be kept; 
  • Leave your personal belongings behind; 
  • Do not use elevators; 
  • Follow the instructions of the emergency team. 

IT 

Catalent offers wireless internet access for our guests. Please ask your host for instructions on access.
