WORKSHOP PRESENTATION

Title: Practical Considerations for Development and Scale-up of Spray Dried Powders for Inhalation
Date: May 7, 2024
Time: 2:00 – 5:00pm

Spray drying is well-established in pharmaceutical manufacturing and has been applied to engineer inhaled powders with high drug load and improved performance compared to lactose blended products. Workshop attendees will be presented with a rationale on whether spray drying is the correct formulation approach for their compound, general strategies when beginning development of a spray dried product, as well as detailed examples of process and formulation decisions to enable a given Target Product Profile (TPP). This workshop will serve as a guide for those still considering a DPI manufacturing approach or currently designing or scaling-up a spray-drying process and formulation.
